WIN FOR SUMMER THE
i RAi;3!T!litl MEMBER'S SUPPORT [Special to the ‘St ah.'] WELLINGTON, December 17. Towards the end of the recent session, members were so busj that a meeting of Daylight Saving supporters clashed ■with an important general meeting to consider another question of interest to legislators. Therefore, the attendance at the gathering callfcd to consider plans for promoting a Summer Time Bill in the present Parliament was smaller than was expected. However, it was decided to make arrangements with a suitable member to introduce a Summer Time Bill in the Lower House providing for one hour’s advance in the dock during the summer period. The first announcement of members’ attitude towards Summer Time stated that Mr Hogan (Rangitikei) was regarded as not being committed against the measure. It has since been-found that this member, who defeated Mr Glenn, the leader of the Summer Time oppositionists, is definitely pledged to the full hour measure, _ and that he made his favourable attitude clear at his election meetings.
