The Corinna sailed on Saturday evening for Timaru and Lyttelton to complete loading for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. The Katoa is duo hero to-morrow morning from Timaru. Sho thenco proceeds to Bluff, and returns to Dunedin to load out for Auckland via ports. The Gale is duo hero from Port Chalmers on Wednesday morning, and sails tho same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Pictou, and Wanganui. The Waipiata leaves Auckland on Wednesday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru, and Dunedin. The Karetu is due back at this port on Thursday from Lyttelton,' and loads out on Friday for Sydney, via Bluff. The Wairuna left Los Angeles at noon on December 9, and is duo at Papeete on December 24, and at Auckland on January 6. Sho will proceed thenco to Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. The steamer Tredinmck, with, cargo from Eastern Canadian ports for New Zealand, sailed from Balboa on December 10, <?n route from Montreal to Auckland. Tho vessel is due at Auckland on December 29, and alter unloading a portion of her. cargo will complete discharge at Wellington, Sydney, and Geelong. The Kent, from Wellington and Napier, is due at Bluff on December 21 to load general cargo., Sho will proceed from Bluff to Timaru, Port Chalmers, and Wellington, sailing finally from the latter port on January 10 for London, via Panama and Curacao, The Ii.M.S. Makura, from San Francisco, via Papeete, left Rarotonga last Tuesday for Wellington, where she arrived this morning. She will sail at 3 p.m. to-morrow for Sydney.

THE FERRY SERVICE. Tho Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 7. a.m. yesterday, and passengers and mails came south hy the express to-day. PERSONAL. Mr J. Mac Neil has joined the Kaimai as second officer, relieving Mi' R. F. Dewer, who is transferring to the Poolta in a similar capacity, relieving Mr D. C. Chainpion for his' holidays. Mr. E. A. Cox, chief officer of the Kaitangata, and Mr J. AVareup, chief officer of the Katoa, exchanged ships at Wellington on Tuesday. Mr D. J. Rutter, third officer of the Kaitoke, is transferring to the Katoa in a similar capacity", Mr P. J. Anderson, who recently passed the exanlination for his master’s ticket at Sydney, is joining the Kowhai as second officer, relieving Mr P. 13. Thompson for his holidays. Mr JVA. Rearson, chief officer of the Kakariki, has joined the Oonah temporarily, relieving Mr E. A. Buckingham, who will await orders.. ; : Captain W. J. S. Eyre, of the Kamo, is joining the Oonah, relieving Captain E. Evans, .who will await instructions.

CARGO FROM EAST CANADA. The Canadian National Steamships advise that tho Canadian Conqueror, which is to leave Halifax on December 26, will discharge at Bluff, in addition to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. The Canadian. Challenger, to leave Halifax on January 25, will discharge at Bluff and Napier, in addition to Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, and Dunedin. SOMERSET ARRIVES. The Federal Lino steamer Somerset arrived yesterday morning with a full cargo of general merchandise from Newport, Avonmouth, Glasgow, and Liverpool. She berthed at Victoria wharf to unload a large quantity of cargo for Dunedin to the agency of Messrs Turnjbull, Martin, and Co. She sailed from Liverpool on October 13, and during the first week from port a heavy, swell and south-west seas prevailed. Colon was reached on October 30, and Balboa was cleared the following day. Fine weather prevailed in the Pacific until tho vessel neared Pitcairn Island, when fresh to strong nerth-west winds and heavy head-seas were encountered. On November 17 the wind was from the south-south-east', and was blowing with the force of a strong gale, accompanied by a very heavy swell and high seas, which continually broke on board the vessel and flooded the deck. The stormy conditions continued for two days, but afterwards the weather was fine to Auckland, her first New Zealand port, where she arrived on November 22.

An arrival at Dunedin yesterday morning was the American steamer Golden Cloud, from Pacific Coast ports, via Auckland, Wellington, and Timaru. The vessel was berthed at the Victoria wharf, where the remainder of her freight,. consisting of general merchandise, case oil, and lumber, will bo discharged. The Golden Cloud loaded at Vancouver, Seattle, Tacorao, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, leaving the last-named port on November 1 and making a smart run across the Pacific Ocean in fine weather. She arrived at Auckland on November 28. The vessel then was loaded high above the decks with over 2,Q00,000ft of lumber, and she brought the largest deck cargo of this material which has ever entered Auckland. Captain E. Svedstrup' is in command and has with him the following officers:—Chief officer, Mr E. H. Johanen; second, Mr E. Johansen; third, Mr A. Nobel; chief engineer, Mr R. P. AVorthington; first assistant, Mr _F. Sofsky; second, Mr C. Braden; third, Mr F. AVhite; chief steward, Mr A. Stone. The Golden Cloud will sail about Thursday for Honolulu to load for San Francisco. CARGO FROM MONTREAL. The Runciman steamer Eastmoor, which was berthed at tho Rattray street wharf yesterday afternoon, has a laigo quantity of general cargo from Montreal for discharge at this port. The vessel, which is under charter to the Canadian National Steamships, sailed from Montreal on October 17, and arrived at and cleared Panama on November 0. The-voyage, which was made in fine weather, was of an uneventful nature. Tho vessel arrived at Auckland on December 4, and after discharging part cargo there, proceeded to Wellington and Lyttelton.
