AUSTRALIAN FINED , SHOT BIRD FROM ROADSIDE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, December 10. While journeying in a motor car from Dundee southward Mr T-■ B. Guest, who is described a,< holding an important position in Melbourne, indulged in a little illegitimate shooting while passing Lord Penryhyn’s estate at. Bettws-y-Coed (Wales). Guest was arrested for shooting a bird, but he pleaded that he had" a gun license, and believed ho had the right to’ shoot game from the highway. Guest’s solicitor told tho magistrate that rabbit shooting was encouraged in Australia. It would bo a pity if lie returned home branded as a poacher. Tho magistrate accepted the plea of ignorance, and fined Guest £1 and costs. —Australian Press Association,
