Guest was arrested for shooting a bird, but he pleaded that he had" a gun license, and believed ho had the right to’ shoot game from the highway. Guest’s solicitor told tho magistrate that rabbit shooting was encouraged in Australia. It would bo a pity if lie returned home branded as a poacher. Tho magistrate accepted the plea of ignorance, and fined Guest £1 and costs. —Australian Press Association,
