SECOND GRADE A [Valley 153 and five for 126 defeated Old Boys A 95 and 29. Batting for Valley Hughes (61), Cook (30), Bunn (29 and 18), W. Hope (23), Bell (22 and 16), and Cullen (17); for Old Boys Smith (29 and 10) and Edwards (10) wore the best. Bowling honours wore shared by Bunn (nine for 29), Cook (four for 43), and Hope (three for 11); for Old Boys J. Gould (four). Green (four), A. Gould (four), and Logan (three). Christian Brothers (120 and 94) obtained a three-point win against Dunedin (72 and 136). Foi Christian Brothers O’Connor 25, Collett 22, M'Clintock 22, Ryan 17, Brookes 13, Parsons 12, M'Carten 12, Collett 12, O’Connor 11. For Dunedin Torrance (40), Cowijo (35), Templeton (32), and Kenny (11) batted well. Bowling for Christian Brothers Collett secured four for 30 and two for 56, Sullivan four for 39 and two for 25, Russell three for nine, Brookes two for 26. For Dunedin Cowie secured five for 28 and Constable four for 15. Grange, in the first innings, made 252 runs. Albion had five for 105 at the dose of the first day’s play. _ Albion, continuing their first innings, compiled 142. Riach carried his score from 42 to 78 when he threw his wicket away. Wallace (12) and Williams (IS) wore the only, other batsmen to score double figures. Albion followed on, and made 109. Riach again placed well, and scored 40. Churchill, jun. (19) and Saunders (17 not out) were the only other topscorers. The bowling honours for Grange were shared by Dey (six wickets for 52), A. Riach (two for 14), Graham (three for 53), and Alf. Galland (four for 28). Grange secured a three-point win. W. Riach for Albion batted well in both innings, and showed sound defence for his 78 and 40 respectively, and saved his side from defeat in both innings. Carisbrook defeated Olds Boys B by an innings and 74 runs, securing a three-point win. Cariabrook’s first innings was completed for 242, the additional scores being Tomkinson (48), Bsquilant (31), and L. Groves (16). For Old Boys M’Alpin took four wickets, Beck three wickets, and Sin-
, clair two. In their second innings Old Boys B made 93 (Prydo 34, and Latimer 29). Cantrell (four for 20} and Aslin (three for 33) bowled well for Carisbrook.
SECOND GRADE B The match between High School am} Christian Brothers resulted in a' #in for School by 190 runs. School made 147 for five wickets (Holden 101, Ibbotson 52). and Christian Brothers 57. Bowling for School Moloney took five wickets for 15 runs, Raugihonea three for 15. and Henderson two for nine. Valley 133 defeated Grange 12., Batting for Valley Coates (51), Moorhonsc (27), Faithful! (15), Lungley (15), and Maclde (10) were the best. Bowling honours wore shared by Coates (five for 3) and Glover (four for 5) for Valley, and Webb (three for 19), Kilpatrick (two for 45), and Stevens (two fro 23) for Grange. Kaikorai (111) boat Dunedin L (99) by 12 runs (Vial 12, Crawford 36, and Ailbrandt 15); for Kaikorai, Portoous 20, Templeton 13, Mitchell 11, and Pearce 11. For Dunedin Allibrandt took five for 33; and Stewart two for 23; for Kaikorai Scmplcton (fivo for 15). Carisbrook 1), playing Albion C at Carisbrook. made 180 against 126 mado by Albion. For Carisbrook J. Cameron (42), Groves (30), Parton (20), Howarth (19), Douglas (16 not out), Itcnsleigh (14), and Waller (11) reached double figures, while for Albion (Barron 70 and Smith. 21) were the only batsmen to reach double figures. For the winners Cameron (four wickets for 32 runs), Cbannan (two for 29), Groves (two for 16), and Howarth (two for 6) were the successful howlers, For Albion Sinclair secured fivo wickets for 59 runs. Port Chalmers 67 (C. Wilson 13 not out, A. Cnthberb 1.1) defeated Albion A 15 by 43 runs. Bowling for Port V. Howard took fivo wickets for 7 runs and J. Annan two wickets 7. Carisbrook beat Dunedin C by 3 runs. THIRD GRADE Christian Brothers 194 beat Kaikorai A 101 by 93 runs. M'Carten 59, Cusack 25, O’Reilly 34, Cahill 19, Simmere 16 batted well for Christian Brothers, as did Beath 16, Corkin 11, arid Still 10 for Kaikorai A. Cusack took six for 27 and Cahill four for 14 for Christian Brothers, and Torrance three for 42 for Kaikorai A. Kaikorai B 114 beat High School 99 by 15 runs. D. Harborlio 38, Harris 23, and Foote 13 batted well for Kaikorai B, as did Gwynno 86. Chisholm 23, and M'Lauchlan 15 for High School. Harris five for 22 and Foote three for 25 bowled well for Kaikorai: for High School,, Moloney, four for 33 Cavisbreck E 123 defeated High School Old Boys No, 1 76. Batting for Carisbrook, Elder 53 and Scott 21 did well, while Scott eight for 40 was tho best howler. For Old Boys, E. Vivian 17, Brinsley 13, Grimmet 12, and Gnmmet fivo for 53, Lang three for 18, E. Vivian two for 86 were tho best. Tho game Grange v. Valley resulted in a win for Grange by 51 runs—9s to 44. Tho only batsmen who showed fine form for Grange were Campbell 23, Bird 17, and Baton 13; while for Vak loy, R. Peart 20 not out. Bowling for Grange, Bell took five for 30 runs, Micliie two for 18, Knowles two for 8; for Valley, W. Peart two wickets. Young three, Beadle two. BOYS’ ASSOCIATION In the senior division of the BojV League competition Albion made 145 (Anderson 77, Keenan ,32) against High School It., who replied with 73 and 23 (Ramsay 16, Marslin 13, Hodges 14). For Albion, who scored a three-point win, Tobin eight for 30 and Coding seven for 14 bowled splendidly. School VI. seven wickets for 131 (Brooks 52, Goddes 28, Alexander 17, Grey 13) defeated School IX. 35 (M‘Daren 18) and 25 by an innings and 71 runs. The best Sqhol VI. bowlers were Brooks, Hudson, Alexander, Geddcs; and for School IX. M'Gown. LEAGUE MATCHES Standard 64 (Quest 31 and Frood 11), Frood six wickets for 20 and Quest three for 23, defeated Drainage Board 45 (.1. Wilson 12), T. Fitzpatrick two for 4, Wrigglcworth two for 5, and A. Wilson two'for 6. Laidlaw and Gray 188 (Callender 105 not out, Turnbull 31, and M'Lood 28), Callender six wickets for 22 and Turnbull four for 19, defeated D.9.A. 77 (Silver 26, Olsen 16, and Williams 11), Silver two for 21 and Hay three for 48 wore the best bowlers. Hillside four wickets for 110 and 4 for three wickets (Eckhoff 62 Dolan 25 not out), Locffler four for 12 and Dolan two for 2, defeated Locomotive B 37 and 74 (Henderson 13 and 11, Sinclair 39 not out, Westfield 13, Findlay two for 11 bowled well). Tramways H. (Ireland 36. Taylor 2u, Buddy 12, and Eaton 10), Mattingly ten for 29, Eaton three for 13, and Taylor two for 12. defeated Pride of Leith 21 and 40 for five wickets (Kerr 14 and Duncan 10 not out), Ganelin two for 17, Simpson two for 18, and Hcllycr three for 31.
