NEW ZEALAND MORTGAGE TRUST AND BOND CORPORATION, LTD. The first annual meeting of the above company was held in the Chamber of Commerce board room on Inesaay, November 20. Mr Arthur Ellis (cmunmni of directors) presided. . Ho stated that a largo proportion of the share, capital had bcensubsciibco, and that the business done for the hirst year had been very satisfactory. the net result of the year’s operations alter duo allowance for unearned interest and proportion of discounts was £743 <s id, from winch the directors recommended writiim olf establishment charges, £2oU, ami the balucc of £493 7s 7d bo earned forward. A considerable amount of business had been olfered, but tlio directors bad only accepted those loans which vyoro considered entirely satisfactory, the company had now also a complete organisation for the selling of property and estates. A bond issue had been decided on. Tho bonds would carry interest at 7 per cent, per annum, payable hail-yearly. This policy was being adopted in preference to calling up the full capital. Mr B. B. Macdonald, vice-chairman, stated that tho company’s particular business was financing and discounting second mortgages, and the business done fully justified the company being established.
