Rumours having been that the Mahakipawa Goldfields Comnanv is nearing the end of its linanci.il resources, the directors state that such is not the ease, the financial position ol the company being quite satisfactory. It Ins also been stated that the pumps and 'motors imported by the company for keeping the mine free ol water were a failure. This, also, the directors state, is contrary to fact. It is natural to be expected that minor setbacks will occasionally occur, but on the whole the pumps have worked well, and at the present time are giving every satisfaction, and are in (Irst-class order. ' , One of the directors recently visited the mine, and reports that all the plant is satisfactorily working. Pumps haw recently been tested by (ho Power Board and found to be in perfect order.
