The Shell Company’s coastal tanker Paua arrived yesterday, and berthed at the Victoria wharf to discharge bulk motor spirit and fuel oil into the company's tanks mi the foreshore. The vessel left this morning for Lyttelton to load motor spirit lor Bluff and Dunedin. She is expected back at Dunedin early netrti week. The Opihi, which arrived yesterday morning from Grey mouth via Bluff to discharge coal, is to sail this evening for Timnru, Wellington, ami Westport. ■' Tho Corinna arrived this morning, from Wellington. After discharging her cargo, she will load and sail tins eyeniiig o for Nelson and New Plymouth via ports. The Eahika is duo to-morrow morning from Gisborne direct. She is to load out the same day for Napier and Gisborne via ports. The Kurow is expected to leave Wellington to-morrow for Dunedin. She is due on Saturday to load general cargo for Auckland via ports. The Calc is duo to-night from Lyttelton, and is to sail to-morrow for Timarn, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. The .Kairanga arrived at New Plymouth on Tuesday with general cargo from Edilhburg, Adelaide, and Melbourne. She was scheduled to sail vesterdav for Auckland, Napier, Wellington, ” Wanganui, Lyttelton, and Dunedin to complete discharge. Advice has been received from the New Zealand Shipping Company that the Wirra! is expected at Dunedin with cargo from Montreal via northern ports on Saturday. The Storm, which is at present being overhauled at Lyttelton, is to dock at the end of the week for cleaning ana painting, and is expected to sail lor Wellington and Wanganui soon afterwards. THE FERRY SERVICE. The ferry steamer Wahine arrived at. LvUelton at 6.56 a.m. from Wellington. .passengers and mails for the south connecting with the express.

TAINUI ON SATURDAY. The National Mortgage and Agency Company advises that the Tainm is due in tho harbour on Saturday from London and Southampton via W ellington and Lyttelton. . Provided that she does not draw too much water, she will be berthed at Dunedin to discharge general cargo from the Home ports. RENHOLM’S MOVEMENTS. Messrs Turnbull, Martin, and Co. advise that the A. and A. liner Benholm left Auckland on Tuesday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin to complete discharge of her general cargo from New York. She is expected hero about November 29. PORT CURTIS’S ITINERARY. Due at Auckland from New York on November 29, the Commonwealth ana Dcminion Line steamer Port Curtis will complete discharge at Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, ahd Dunedin. She will then commence loading at southern ports for New York, Boston, and Halifax, not taking cargo for the United Kingdom. She is due at Auckland again to pick up local produce on December 12, and is scheduled to sail finally from New Zealand lor New York at the end of December. LARGE LOAN FUR SHIP. The largest Joan yet authorised under the Jones-White Shipping _ Act was granted recently to the American Lino Steamship Company by the United States Shipping Board, for the construction of a palatial combined passenger and cargo vessel to cost approximately £1,400,000. The maximum amount authorised was 73 per cent, or (he total, provided the loan did not exceed £1,050,000. TRANSPACIFIC CARGO SERVICE. The Union Company announces the following movements of vessels in the transivacilic service: — Waitemata loft Nelson ycslcrdaj morning for Lyttelton and Dunedin, and proceeds thence to Vancouver via Fiji. , , Waihemo, which left Los Angeles on November 9, is due at Auckland on December 4, and proceeds thence to Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. Nordhval left San Francisco on November 10. and is duo at Auckland on December 4, and proceeds to Melbourne and Sydney. Sussex left Vancouver on November 13 for Union Bay, Anacortes, and Ocean Falls. She proceeds thence to Los Angeles to complete loading ior Hobart, Beauty Point, Melbourne, Adelaide, and Sydney. She is to leave Los Angeles about November 30. Wairnna. from Fanning Island arrived at Vancouver on November 18, and proceeds thence to Powell River, Union Bay, Ocean Falls. San I'rancisco, and Los' Angeles, clearing tho lastnamed port about December S ior Papeete, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, and Sydney. Waikawa left Suva on November 10 for Vancouver, where she is due on December 7. She proceeds thence to San Francisco and Los Angeles to complete loading for Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin. Bluff, and New Plymouth. Hanraki, which left Sydney on. November 16, is due at Honolulu on December 3. and at Vancouver on December 12, and proceeds thence to San Francisco and Los Angeles to complete loading for Auckland. Wellington, Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne. THE TOFU A. The Union Company’s Island steamer Tofua reached Apia on Friday morning, and sailed for Suva and Auckland at midday on Saturday. Sho was scheduled to clear Suva this morning, and to reach Auckland next Monday. THE HILDA KNUDSEN.. The 9,000-ton Norwegian motor tanker Hilda Knudsen arrived at Wellington from San Pedro on Saturday afternoon with 4,000,000 gallons ot benzine for the Atlantic Union Oil Company. Sho is unloading nearly ;">OO,OOO gallons at ‘Western wharf, and is to sail for Melbourne and Sydney to complete discharge. Tho vessel was built at Denmark, and completed last Julv, when she was despatched to the Black Sea. to load gasoline and kerosene for Vladivostock, Siberia. Attei discharge sho proceeded to San Pedro to load her present cargo. Sho sailed from San Pedro on October 23, and experienced generally fair weather. The speed averaged was over 11.5 knots. Sho is a twin-screw vessel, and is the largest motor tanker that has visited Auckland. The crew thirtyeight all told, and Captain 0. Kolslo is in command. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALI..
