DEATH THROUGH POISONING
CHILD SEIZED WITH CONVULSIONS \ verdict of accidental death through swallowing tablets poison, was returned at the inquest into the circumstances surrounding the death of Murray James Sheifelbicu, aged one year and nine months, was concluded this morning before the coroner (Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M.). Tho bov was admitted to hospital on November 7, suffering from convulsions, and died half an hour after his admission. Professor Dmman submitted a detailed report of a post-mortem examination of the body, and stated that intensive irritation of the central nervous system and an asphyxial type of death, tlio result of general spasm, was indicated. These appearance wore compatible with poisoning. One quarter or a e-rain of this poison would be a latal dose for an adult, and ono-fifticth was recorded as having caused the death of a young child. In this case, there was one fifty-ninth of a grain of a particular poison in the tablets. In returning the verdict, the coroner stated 1 it would bo necessary to call tho attention of tho Public Health Department to tho maimer in winch these tablets were lining sold in that the constituents of poison were not given on tho label.
