BURNSIDE STOCK SALES
Owing to tho A. and R. Society's show opening to-day tho stock sales at Burnside were held yesterday. ’I ho yardings generally were lighter than the previous week, and prices were easier.
Fat Cattle.-—222 fat cattle Mere yarded, a decrease of twenty-eight, as compared with last week. The quality was good, but tbo demand was slack, and values opened at from £1 to £2 below last week’s rates. Extra prime heavy bullocks realised to £23 10s; prime, £lB to £3l; medium, £.15 to £l7 10s; light from £1.2 10s; prime cows and heifers, £l3 to £ll 7s fid; medium, £lO to £l2; light from £3 KK Store Cattle.—'The entry was small, and prices were good. Fat Sheep.—The yarding numbered 1,223, as against 1912 last week. Some particularly good shorn .sheep were in evidence. ” The market was dull and lifeless, prices being 3s easier lur lanny sheep and 2s for light. Extra prime heavy woolly wethers brought from 53s to 55s 9d; prime, 49s to 525; medium, 44s to 4Ss; lighter, 38,s to 435; extra prime heavy shorn wethers, 35s u> :j,s; a'few special to 39s Del ; prime, 32s to 345; medium, 27s 6d to 31s; lighter, 23s to 335; extra prime heavy shorn owes, 29s to 32s 9d; prime, 2Cs to 23s Gd; medium, 22s to 255. Fat Lambs.—This was the largest yarding for the season to date, .;rd the supply was far in excess of the demand. Values eased lully 4s or 5s per head. Extra prime heavy lambs sold from 33s to 35s 3d; prime, 28s to 325; medium, 26s to 27s 6d: light, 23s to 25s 6d. Fat Pigs,—There was a very small yarding, only 141 pigs being yarded. The demand was bettor, and values were firmer.
