LATE SPORTING
TROTTING TRACK ACCIDENT [Sraa*L to the ‘ Stas.”] AUCKLAND, November 20. The well-known trainer and driver A« Julian had his collarbone broken when Rolfo Audubon fell with him this morning on tlio Epsom training track. L«van, ridden by J. Cockle, was sent out to go a mile in saddle, and Julian, who was driving Bolfe Audubon, was to pick her up at the last half-mile. It was not a good pick up, and Luvan had a couple of lengths break on Ilolfe Audubon when Hie latter hit his straps and gathered np speed. However, he had only gone a furlong when ho tried to jump a shadow on the brack, and fell. F. 6. Holmes, riding St. Bridget, crashed into Ilolfe Audubon, Holmes being thrown high in the air. Julian had his collarbone broken, and the sulky was badly smashed. Holmes escaped injury. AVONGOURT INJURED (Special to the • Stab.*] AUCKLAND, November 20. Working at Ellorslie this morning, the tiiree-yea f-u?S filly Avoncourt collided with a trestle on the course proper and cut her off foreleg severely, which may prevent her fulfilling her engagements at Takapuna. This is bad luck for her connections, as she was going along very well in track work, and looked like getting on the winning list shortly.
