THE AMERICAN VOTE.
TO TUB EDITOR, Sir, —The great event upon which the eyes of the world has been set has come —tho.national referendum and fight between tho “dry” ami “wet” interests, of tho United States, and National Prohibition rides triumphant under the Stars and Stripes to-day—a splendid vindication by the votes of the people who live under Prohibition, They suffered and know only too well the curses of i.’ o liquor bars, and after eight years’ trial they say decidedly: “Prohibition is better than liquor licenses.” Their verdict is a complete condemnation of the lying propaganda circulated by the world liquor federation. The people who live under Prohibition arc tho best able to judge whether it is belter than liquor licenses or not; and tho electors of this dominion now have tho verdict of the electors of a nation of 120 million people, “ Prohibition_ is north keeping.” it will ho very interesting to watch what tho liquor interests will now do. Probably they will start advertising about the wonders of “State sale” in Canada. They will lm just as accurate as they have been about Prohibition in tho United States. They stand'condemned by the votes of tho people of tho United
States.— l am, etc., Citizen November 8.
