SUICIDE INDICATED. Eddie Campbell, a half-casto Maori, was found on a farm at Penrose (Auckland) with his throat cut and aif open razojr alongside the body. Charles Henry Jones, a single man, aged 26. was found dead in Mayfair Flats (Wellington). The body was lying close to a gas main from which the cap bad been removed.—Press As* sociation. CHILDREN INJURED. As a result of a light mptor truck which their father was driving crashing into a tramway centre polo ju Freeman’s Bay (Auckland) just boloro 6 o’clock* last evening, the three chib dreu of Mr J. J. Sutton received various injuries. The oldest boy, Albert Sutton, aged nine, was cut about the face and received concussion j John, aged six, received a fracture of the left thigh; and a, sister, Jean, received injuries to the leit eye and forehead. The father escaped without serious injury. Later the boy John -was admitted to the hospital, but bis condition was regarded as satisfactory. David McNeill, married, aged fiftylive years, residing at Fairfield, was killed by a fall of sand at Shicl’s sand pit at Fairfield yesterday afternoon. The deceased was standing on one of tho bins endeavouring to clear a blockage when a 1 till ol *saud through one of the hoppers used for 1 ceding trucks buried him. He was suffocated before the sand could bo removed. An inquest was opened at the morgue this morning before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., coroner. Formal evidence of identification was given, and the inquest was adjourned until Monday morning. SUDDEN DEATH ON TRAIN. Valentino Charles Parker, coxswain on the.pilot launch at Port Chalmers, died suddenly about 8.15 this morning on the train from Port Chalmers to Dunedin. Deceased was a married man, forty-three Years of age, wilii five children. it is thought that death was due to heart failure, ns the deceased suffered from heart trouble and had been undergoing treatment by Dr A. ii. Roy, of" Port Chalmers, for some time. The flag on tho Harbour Board buildings was 11 own at hall-mast this morning as a mark of respect to the deceased. BODY IN HARBOUR. The body which was found yesterday morning lying on the mud flats near llio boat harbour lias been identified as that, of Edward William Thomas Spencer, a widower, aged lifty-«ix years. Deceased, wdio had not been seen since September 5, had not been in good health for some time. Evidence of identification was taken at tho morgue yesterday afternoon, when an inquest was opened and adjourned until Friday morning.
