PRINCESS THEATRE

Again last evening a packed bouse greeted the second performance of the Mike Connors and Queonie Paul League of Notions Revue Company at the Princess Theatre. Not from the opening chorus till the final curtain was there one dull moment, and the audience was treated to a wholly satisfying entertainment which elioted many a spontaneous outburst of laughter. The comedy element is supplied chiefly by “ Orne and Orb” (Syd Beck and Orb Paulasto), two exceptionally fine artists, who possess talent seldom seen among vaudeville stars visiting Dunedin. Variety is the keynote of the success of the show, for besides many highly diverting sketches, singing, dancing, and music are other features of the productions. William Berewford, who has delighted Dunedin audiences on previous occasions with his vocal offerings, sings several popular successes, while Mike Connors and Queenie Paul’s duet presentations meet with most decided approval. Undoubtedly one of the biggest attractions is Lynn Smith and bis syncopating symphonists. These artists present many popular compositions in their own refreshing style, and last evening their playing of 4 The Anvil Chorus ’ _ from 4 11 Trovatore ’ evoked enthusiastic applause. All their pieces were warmly received, and Lynn Smith and his band proved that they were musicians of no mean order. The whole show was well staged, with a clever and fascinating ballet providing several colourful backgrounds.
