MOTOR CYCLE RACING
ATTRACTION AT FORI3URY PARK. At Forbury Park on Saturday afternoon there will be staged one of the greatest attractions that has been held m Dunedin for many a long*day. Tin's is the promotion of dirt track motor cycle racing under the auspices of the Otago Centre of the New Zealand Amateeur Athletic Association, with the co-operation of the Otago Motor Club, and those who have read of the popularity and wonderful thrills afforded by this sport abroad will be eagerly awaiting Saturday for an opportunity of witnessing its attractions for themselves. The fields in the motor cycle events include many of the best riders in Otago, and among those who arc competing are riders of the calibre of L. H. Johnston, Grounds, J. W. Earland, A. D. Inglis, and C. Rhodes, to mention a few, and there are other prominent riders taking part who can bo depended on to provide some spectacular riding. It is anticipated that some of the riders will attain speeds up to sixty miles an hour along the straight, and the public is assured of witnessing some magnificent finishes The athletic and cycling programme will also be a big attraction, and in the running events all the best known athletes in Dunedin will bo taking part. The cycling events are in the naturo of sprints, and should produce some fast riding. J. Fogarty, fresh from his triumphs against F. J. Grose, the New Zealand champion, will bo eagerly watched by the public, and, though he is better over tho longer distances, ho should also do well in these sprints, in which such riders as Rosenbroek, Traill, Healey. O'Brien, and Lucas will bo taking part.
