It is now possible to have boneless kippers for breakfast. The first two machines to be used in England lor boning herrings at the rate of 5,000 an hour nave been installed at Fleetwood, Lancashire. The fish are placed on revolving tables, and knives and ploughs fillet the kippers. There arc 279 bones in a kipper, and approximately 170 are removed by the machines, the other bones being harmless.
