MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Otago Power Hoard was held yesterday afternoon, there being 'present the chairman (Mr W. H. Galloway), Messrs ]). JJoyd. P. Briscoe, E. Carson, .1. Guest." 11. M. Driver, and J. K. Simpson. ' Accounts amounting to .CS.I-ld Jos 4d were passed for payment. The Engineer-manager (Mr J. C. Collins) submitted a lengthy report for the month, which stated:— Three interruptions on _ the main lino have occurred, two being. duo to trouble on the City Corporation lino and one due to a wire being burnt through on our own dd,ooo-volt. lino. The bad weather has caused several small interruptions, duo to )uses blowing on small transformers. In order to safeguard those small translormers, wo are now using very light fuse wire, and it would be as well if consumers in this district understood that it is necessary to get in touch with linesman's residence in Waitati, in order to have repairs effected with little delay. On one occasion a portion of the line to Purahanni was out for throe days without notification being given by anyone. Satisfactory arrangcmcids have been made with Messrs Kean and Weddell at Balclutha and Messrs Knight and MTntosh at Lawrence for the servicing of consumers’ complaints and requirements. Consequently, the show rooms in these districts were closed on Saturday last. The report was adopted, and it was subsequently decided to dispose of the surplus stock' by auction..
