HARBOUR FERRIES
RESUMPTION K T SERVICES The announcement that regular services arc to be maintained between the city and the Peninsula by the resumption of Otago Harbour ferries has aroused a groat deal of inleorst. The new service will bo inaugurated on Saturday next, and special excursions will be run on Labour Day. The steamers Waireka and Waikana have boon recommissioned, and should provide the means for many enjoyable outings on the harbour, Both vessels are comfortable and of the right type, and, with the advent of summer, they should be exceedingly well p&troni&eo, M.a.riy citizens and visitors have pleasant recollections of past excursions to the manv attractive resorts on the harbour. Quarantine Island in particular offers manv inducements to picnickers. There, are plenty of shelter sheds, hot and cold water and milk are being provided free, and special concessions will bo offered to families of four children, who will be taken at one adult fare if accompanied by a parent. The timetable is advertised in this issue.
