A tew weeks ago there was reported the experience of a Wellington business man who was in Nelson, and discovered a bottle of Baxter’s Lung Preserver in the bathroom of a friend. On a return trip last week the Wellingtoman was surprised to see another bottle of the commodity on the office desk of his friend. “ Hullo, old man, still taking ‘Baxter’s’?” “Too right,” replied the Nelsonian, “ there is a lot ot ’flu about hero at present, and 1 am not taking any chances 1 find that an occasional dose of ‘ Baxter’s ’ wards it off.” . , All those who feel they are likely to contract ’flu at this time should follow the Nelson man’s example and take the precaution of a dose or two of this famous remedy for coughs, colds, influenza. and chest and lung troubles. “Baxter’s” costs only 2s 6d for a generous-sized bottle, though economical people purchase the family size at 4s 6d. The young man suddenly woke up to the fact that his hostess’s little daughter was trying to make friends with him. “I say, how old are you?” asked the child. The young man smiled and answered the question, only to meet with another: “Are you married?” He assured the little girl that he was not. At that moment the hostess herself appeared, and the little girl turned to her and said: “He’s O.K. so far, mother. Is there anything else you want to know?” One recipe that will never change is that of political pie. It always has been and always will be composed of apple sauce and plums.
