HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
The Spring Shew of the Dunedin Horticultural Society is always a most popular ouo, and evidence is not lacking that tiro exhibition to bo held in the Pioneers’ Hall on Wednesday and Thursday next will bo as popular and also as successful as any of its predecessors. Many promises of support are already forthcoming in sections such as pot plants (both flowering and foliage) and various cut flowers other chan narcissi. Of course, the narcissi will he the predominant flower, and these will embrace seedling varieties and the latest importations from abroad. These should arouse interest not only amongst the enthusiasts, but amongst all those who love the beautiful and are interested in noting the immense improvements that have occurred in the development of this choicest of spring flowers. Another feature that should make the spring show of 1928 noteworthy is the fact that music will be allied with the flowers m making the evening session enjoyable. A choice programme will be given on both evenings, from 8 till 9 o’clock, by Messrs M'Crack'en and Walls on a Gulbransen Registering Piano in conjunction with the new Hus Master’s Voice Re-Entrant Gramophone. Entries for the competitive classes positively close this evening.
