RETURNED SOLDIERS' CHOIR
For tile second concert of the 1928 season the Returned Soldiers’ Choir will present an interesting selection of part songs and choruses. An old favourite, the ‘ Souk of the Northmen ’ (G. Maunder), will ho heard, and a now part song, ‘ Drakes Drum, will also be rendered. The other selections are:—Quartet and male chorus from ‘Merrie England,’ ‘The Sea Hath Its Pearls,’ tho old north-country hunting song, ‘ John Peel,’ ‘ 0 Peaceful Night ’; a humorous number, ‘ Little Tommy Went A-fishing,’ and a sanctus from Mass in B fiat, (l-jchubert), with an organ accompaniment. Tho choir will have tho assistance of Miss Meda Paine. Miss Sheila Ncilson will make her first appearance at the soldiers’ concert, and her ability as a humorist will be appreciated. Tho choir soloists will he Messrs George Proctor, who null sing Clay’s beautiful song, ‘ The Sands o’ Deo,’ and Mr Fred. Haig, ‘ Afton Water.’ Messrs P. S. Anderson and A. J. Parkin- will sing a duct, ‘ Arise, 0 Sun.’ Tlkj accompauimcnts will be played by Miss Mamie Wood. The bos plan arrange" melite ara advertised.
