ST. HILDA BAND AND CHOIR

Tho above baud and choir gave a very successful concert to a crowded house in the Princess Theatre last evening. Miss Stewart gave a fine rendering of ‘The Swallows,’ and had to respond with an encore. Mr F. G. Cooper was in fine voice, and gave a stirring interpretation of ‘The Riderless Steed.’ Master Duncan Todd recited the piece ‘ Early Rising,’ and had to respond to several encores. The trio ‘Samson et Delilah,’ by B. L. H. Do Rose (violin), T. E. J. Lusk (’cello), Chas. A. Martin (piano), was a fine effort, and tho public were not slow to show its appreciation. The hapd choir sang ‘ Nearer, My God, to Thee,’ with band accompaniment, and the part song, ‘Land of Long Ago,’ and the band played the selections ‘ Maritana ’ and ‘ Musical Fragments.’
