NORTHERN. Tho tbree-milo championship in connection with the Northern Club was decided at For bury Park. Tho course was set round tho trotting track, then ou' into Victoria road, trom there through the lupins track to St. lujda terminus, then up Victoria road, finishing once round the tracL Tho first time round saw King and Knowles together in tho lead, with J. Dunn close up. After tho second time round the. order on leaving the course was; King, Knowles, and Dunn. This order was kept round St, Kilda and to the of tho race. The result was: T. King 1, R Knowles .3, J. Dunn 3. Time, lomin 39sqc. A sealed handicap was run in connection with the race, and was won by S. Varcoo, with a handicap of 4min Iosco; R. Knowles 2, G. Turner 3, and, B. Young 4. The thanks of tho club are duo to tho Trotting Club for tho. uso of tho track. Mr J. M'lndoe acted as starter, and Messrs E. J. King and R. Knowles, son., as timekeepers. CAVERSHAM AND UNIVERSITY. Tho Cavexsham Harriers held a combined run with the University Club from St. Clair baths, a large number of runners participating in a very enjoyable run. The paper was in tho hands of L. Wood and D. Brown, who were responsible for an excellent trail, which led up Cliffs road, branching oft. in tho direction of Cargill’s Castle, then through Hamilton’s farm across country to Nottingham crescent, and continuing on through excellent harrier country to tho Mam South road. From hero tlio frail passed'through tho children's park and on to Forbnry road, whence a last run home was made. MORNINGTON AND HANOVER.

, Moruington and Hanover held a combined run from tho_ Anderson’s Bay School. Paper was dispensed with. The fast pack, under Captain Haywood (Hanover) raji~along the High road as far as the cafe, and across country to the low road, where a solid pace was set in view of the marathon. The slow pack ran round Vauxhall to the Monument, and homo through Tomahawk. In a fun home from Anderson's Bay Cemetery Bell JMornington) and Smith (Hanover) were first home. ANGLICAN. A good muster of members of the Anglican Harriers turned out from George Street School. C. P. Holmes and J. Moody led an excellent trail up to Pine Hill and round the foot of Mount Cargill, thence via Bethune’s Gully to Normanby and homo. The pack, under the whistle of It. 0, Johnson, maintained a good pace tliroughout, and in the final run Price was first, with Jtolfo and Pollock close _up. Several young runners, Cameron, Fitzsimmonds, and Adkins showed considerable promise, and with a little training they should do well in the coming club sports. DUNEDIN. The Dunedin Club held its ran from CaHle street. A fair muster followed the whistle of Deputy-captain Baxter, from Casllo streo to Logan Park, up the track by tho quarry, and down to the butts, then up right through the bush to the top of Signal Hill, making one or two circles round tho hill till a suitable track was found, and then down again; then meeting at Logan Park and round the road to Harbour terraco, Eden street, on to Albany street, homo along Castlo street. First home, C. Bush, J. Baxter, Hay, Bush, and Mr Roscvear. LEITH. Leith ran from Leith Valley School as the guests of Mr and Mrs T. McCarthy.’ A good trail, laid by Captain Les Potter and K. Ward, led up as far as the first bridge, where it swung abruptly up tho hill, across good country to Wakari roand, thence down the-old clay, track to Flagstaff. Taking to tho paddocks again, the trail led past the residence of Mr Goorgo Dtraldson, where it was lost, and tho pack followed down the hill to the school, a good run resulting in the young runners coming to the fore. Afterwards, the, harriers wore entertained to . a most enjoyable tea. PACIFIC. Pacific Club had a fair muster from Anderson’s Bay School. With the view of the marathon race to be held on August 25, two packs were formed, and those intending to enter for the marathon race went with Deputy-captain Mouat for a rim along tho Lower Portobcllo road, while the others, under Captain Buskin and Acting Deputy-captain Smith followed the road over to Srnaill’s beach, and then over the hills to Shicl Hill. From here a fast ran home took place, and tho following were first home:—Smith, Jones, Ashton, and E. AVahrlick CARGILL ROAD. Cargill Road Methodists ran _ from the church as guests of the captain and his wife, Mr and Mrs Graves. A good trail led up Macandrew road, over tho quarry, and across some excellent harrier country to Burnside. Hero tho pack doubled around country at the back of the moat works, and up the hill to tho back of Grsn Island. The trail led back over the bills to tbe top of Kew. In a fast run home Barclay came in first, closely followed by Knox, M'Kcich, and Wellington, in that order, ST. PATRICK’S.

Stj Patrick’s held their cross-country championship over a typical cross-coun-try course, commencing at Cargill’s .Castle (hy kind permission of Mr R. Tnit) and leading along the side of the golf links to District road, crossing the paddocks to tho Gn Island Bush road, along this to a turn to the left, past M'Millan’s farmhouse, and homo via Hamilton’s farm. A fair field faced the starter (Mr P. Maynard), who sent his men away smartly, with the loaders setting a solid pace, The race finished at the Castle, with Gcddes running in the winner, and R. Raughen in second place. Daley was third. The scaled handicap went to C. M'Donnell, with Daley only 9scc behind. The time was 33min lesec. The two firpt men were never headed, hut Geddes had a shade more left at the finish than Baughen. who was beaten by a very few yards. The event set down for nest Saturday is the run from Holy Cross College as tho guests of the rector, the Rev. Dr Mnrknno. ST. KILDA. St. Kilda Club held its two-milo Junior and open handicap at Forbury Park, there being good entries for both events. In the junior handicap Edwards made the pace from the start, with M'Neil, Thompson,; and Sabaston. in closo attendance. In the last lap; Thompson moved up into second place, with M'Neil running third. Tho race resulted in a win for Thompson, M'Neil being second and Edwards third. in the open handicap Steffens made tho pace from the start, being closely, followed by Foley and Auld until tho second time past tho stand, when Foley passed Steffens, who then nulled out, leaving it to Foley, AukL and Pope in that order. All were going well,_ and •Pope, who was in the pink of condition, here started to gain on the leaders and passed them, with Bonrdnian coming well up. Pope finished with a good lead from Foley, with Boardman third. ' ABBOTSFORD.

Abbotsford Methodists ran under splendid weather conditions. The hares,” G. Fincham and E. Woolsoy. led a very creditable trail across country past Thomson’s farm, into the scrub, on to the water race, thence to the back of Mount Grand, and then circling back to Freeman’s farm. .The- nack had a. good run homo along the North Taicrp load _ towards Abbotsford. A very promising youth in the person of I). Benfell showed up wonderfully well by coming in first. He is practically a new member to the club, and probably will ho of great value. T. Brown was second, and It. Knox third.
