[Psii Cxrran Firms Association.]

AUCKLAND, August 10 “It seems. very regrettable that people are to be found in this city to take advantage of the unemployment position,” said the magistrate (Mr (M'Kean), in fining J. E. Wade £2 and costs for a breach of the Shops and Offices Act. The Labour Inspector said a man named Taylor advertised that he would pay a £lO bonus for a job. Wade replied, and offered him work at 90s a week. Wade then for ten weeks deducted £1 from Taylor’s wages as the bonus payment.
