Fokecast. Tho Dominion -Meteorologist (Dr E. Kidson) supplied the following at aoon to-day:—Tho indications are for northerly winds, moderate to strong; there is a prospect of fair to cloudy weather, tho night will probably bo verv cold, with frosts inland; barometer rising; sea smooth, tides moderate. The Wingatui has been delayed at Lyttelton with engine trouble, -necessitating her docking' at that port. She is' not expected to leave there now before Tuesday for Timaru, Oaraaru, and Dunedin, where slio will finish discharging her North Island cargo.Rad weather has delayed the Kahika at Gisborne, and sho did not leave there until last night for Napier. JSlie is to sail from Napier this evening for Dunedin direct, where sho is dub on Monday to tako in cargo for Napier and Gisborne via ports. Tho Waip-iata is expected to leave Wellington to-morrow for Lyttelton and Dunedin. Sho is duo hero on Tuesday to load for Auckland via ports. Tho' Waikouaiti sailed this morning foe northern ports to complete discharge of her Australian cargo. She will return to Dunedin from Timaru to load for Sydney, completing at Bluif. The- Calm is due on Sunday from Bluff to load tho" following day for Timaru, Lyttelton,’ Wellington, and Wanganui.. With passengers,, mails, and cargo,' the-steamers Marama antf Mahcno. were scheduled to leave Sydney to-day for Auckland and Wellington respectively. With a full cargo of phosphates from Malm (Seychelles Islands), tho Finnish four-masted barque Olivebank is expected to roach Auckland about August 31. She sailed from Mahe on June 2.8. The vessel made a voyage from. Seychelles to New Zealand in 1926, and her phosphate cargo was unloaded at Port Chalmers and Auckland. She was eighty-six days from Seychelles to Port Chalmers The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Line's new motor ship Taranaki has been delayed in loading in ■ tho north, and is now expected at Auckland to-morrow. She will sail about Tuesday for Loudon and West of England ports. Tho. American steamer Golden Harvait was despatched from Los Angeles on July 31 with lumber, case oil, and general merchandise for discharge at Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton. She is due at Auckland on August 25. Cabled news has been received by the Union Company advising of the departure of the tanker Otokia from San Luis last Saturday. The vessel brings a cargo of fuel oil for discharge into tho company’s tanks at Miramar (Wellington). THE FERRY SERVICE. Tho Maori, from Wellington, arrived at Lyttelton at 6.50 a.m. to-day, and passengers and mails connected viur ‘ho express. PORT NAPIER LEAVES PANAMA. Tho C. and D. Lino has been notified by cable that the Port Napier left Panama Canal on Monday for Suva, Auckland, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is duo at Auckland about September o. S.S. AND A. PASSENGER LINERS. Tho Shaw, Savill, and Albion liner lonic is scheduled to clear Southampton on August 17 with passengers, mail, and cargo for New Zealand. _ The cargo will "bo unloaded at Wellington and Auckland. Sho is due at Wellington on September 24 and at Auckland a week Inter. Tho Mataroa is to leave Southampton for New Zealand on September 21. She is due at Wellington to land passengers on October 27, and will afterwards unload at Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, and Timaru. Tho Tamaroa is to leave Southampton for Wellington and Auckland on November 9, and is duo at Wellington on December 15. PERSONAL. Captain Ross-Clark, late master of D" Balls Head, is relieving Captain Elders as master of tho Waipiata. Captain Elders proceeds to Wellington for orders. /' _
THE RUAPEHU’S VOYAGE. After an uneventful voyage from Home, tho New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruapehu arrived at Dunedin this morning, l and was berthed at the cross wharf to land passengers and discharge a quantity of general cargo. The vessel loaded at West of England ports for Dunedin, Lyttelton, and New Plymouth, and sailed from London at 11.31 p.m. on Juno 28, and called at Southampton tho next day to embark passengers and mails. She sailed again on the night of the 29th, and experienced a fair weather run to Colon, which was reached on tire morning of July 15. The vessel passed through the Panama Canal tho same day, and arrived at Balboa, where her passengers had shore leave. Balboa was left the next day, and lino weather was mot with until about a week before reaching New Zealand, when westerly gales were encountered. On Friday night, July 27,. a call was made-at Pitcairn Island, and two boat loads of natives came aboard with fruit and curios. The Ruapehu arrived at Wellington on Wednesday, and landed North Island passengers and, put out her mails, and. sailed at night for Dunedin direct,' She brought the following saloon passengers for this port:—Dr J. \ S nith, Mrs Ashworth. Miss Carlin, Mr Lyons, Mr and Mrs Sleielt. Mr CesAlr Murphy, Miss M'Cosh, Miss \) oocls, Miss Watkins, Miss Millies. (,-aptain A. W. The Ruapehu is expected to leave about Tuesday for Lyttelton and New Plymouth to finish discharge. She will afterwards load in New Zealand for the return trip. • THE ANGLO-COLUMBIAN. The steamer Aiiglo-Colombian, due at Port Chalmers to-morrow from Galveston (Texas) with a cargo of sulphur, will sail next week to complete discharge at Australian jvorts. Line’s new motor ship Coptic, on route from _ Liverpool to New Zealand ports, arrived at Colon on August 6. The vessel has cargo for discharge at Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, and P.ort Chalmers, and is due at Auckland about October 6. THE EASTERN SERVICE.
