CHRISTCHURCH, July 19. At Riccarton to-day Limerick, who looks a picture, sprinted five furlongs in Imin 4scc. He carried about 8.7, and as he was never off his bit it was a most satisfactory performance. Ho was brought home by Gay Crest.
Chickwlieat boat Marianna by yx lengths at the finish of a gallop over three-quarters of a mile that took Imin 17 3-ssec. Ghickwheat never looked better than at present, but Martarma still carries a lot of top hamper. Nincompoop outstayed Tarleton over six furlongs, and beat him homo in ■lmin ISscc. Tarleton showed more speed than his stable mate, and soon had a big lead, but lie stopped badly in the run home. This may have been caused by his wound bleeding, as blood was trickling from his nose when ho was pulled up. Arikiwai and Roscrea were together while running five furlongs _ in Imin (hoc. They carried light weights and were not ridden out Arikiwai was sound when ho went out to gallop, but was decidedly lame in front afterwards. THE mm WINNER HIGH PRICE REFUSED.
