TO-DAY'S CASH PRICES
The guide gives the lowest cash prices ruling in the city shops today.
Eggs have dropped 3d, and are now selling at 2s. Butter has gone up Id, and is now 1s 8d and'ls lOd.
Fish is very scarce. Groper, Bd, 10d, and Is; ling, 4d and 6d; deepsea cod, 4d and Sd; flounders from fid each, no soles offering; smoked barracouta, 1s each; smoked ling, fid lb; mutton birds, Is; fowls from 2s each.
Meat prices are unchanged:— Beef (roast), 5d to 8d; corned beef, from 6d to 8d; mutton, from 3£d to 8d; lamb, from 5s quarter; pork, from 8d to Is.
Vegetable prices are.—Taien potatoes, 81b for Is; cabbages, 2d to 8d; cauliflowers, fid to Is; lettuce, 3d to fid; marrow, 2d lb; pumpkin, 2d lb; potatoes, 8s cwt; spinach, 2d bunch; celery, 4d to fid stick; artichokes, 3d lb; onions, 61b for 1s; pickling onions, 101 b for Is.
Fruit is selling at: —Bananas, 8 and 10 for Is; Jonathan apples, 3d, 4d, and fid lb; Delicious, fid and 8d lb, and 31b for Is 9d; cooking apples, 51b for Is; Winter Cole pears, 4d and fid lb; Winter Nelis pears, 4d and fid lb; cooking pears, 3d lb; Naval oranges, 3,4, and 6 for Is; Victorian lemons, 5 for 1s; grapefruit, fid each; cucumbers,. Is each; tomatoes, Is fid lb; Tahiti oranges, 5 for Is, 6 for Is; Sevili oranges, 8d lb; Poorman oranges, 8d lb.
