The vital statistics for June, which were gazetted last night, show that the total live births registered for the urban areas numbered 980, compared with. 1,099 in May, a decrease of 119. The deaths were 532, an increase of thirty-seven as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths, males contributed 257, females _ 245. Sixty-two of the deaths were children under live years of age, being 11.61 per cent, of the whole number. Fiftytwo of these were under one year of age.
