TASMAN FLIGHT

WAITING FOR GOOD WEATHER ‘ FUEL SUPPLIES REPLENISHED (Pkk United Press Association] CHRISTCHURCH, July U. Regarding the Tasman flight, it is the firm belief of Mr J. A. Philp, manager of the Union Oil Company, Ltd., the firm which is supplying the Southern Cross with fuel and oil, that the airmen are now ready for the trip, and are waiting for the first suitable weather. Mr Philp feels that the words “any time now,”, used in a cable to his firm, admit of no other meaning “Of course, they may not come lor a fortnight,” said Mr Philp, “ but ,1 would not be surprised to see them arrive within the next few days.” To replenish the fuel tanks ol the Southern Cross 1,-00 gallons ol petrol will be needed, and the big motor tank truck will have to make two trips to tho aerodrome to complete the operation. Besides petrol, forty gallons of oil will be taken on board.
