DRUIDISM
The meeting of Otago Lodge was held on Monday, when a good muster of members greeted the A.D. and his officers. The half-yearly balance shect was submitted and discussed. General satisfaction was expressed at tho sound financial position of the lodge and the auditors m their report spoke in complimentary terms of tho capable manner in which tho business had been carried out by tlio secretary and treasurer. Two candidates were initiated in an impressive manner by tho retiring A.D. and officers. The D.P. of No. 1 district attended officially for tho purpose ol installing the officers for tho ensuing term The ceremony was carried out very efficiently by Bro. Rusbridgc, who was assisted by P.D.P. Bro. Ford. The installed officers are as follows:—Arch Druid, Bro. A. 11. Rankin; V.A.. Bro. J. Barton; J.P.A., Bro. A Kilgour; secretary, Bro. J. W. Dove (reelected) ; treasurer, Bro. A. J. Cannon (rc-elected); LG., Bro. Duckworth; 0.G., Bro. Tasker; A.D. Bards, Bros. M'Crone and Smith; V.A. Bards, Bros. Barnes and Hope; M.C., Bro. C. Walker (re-elected); organist, Bro. A. A. Leislnnan (re-elected); minute secretary, Bro. F. Barton (re-elected). ‘ Enterprise Lodge held its meeting in the Oddfellows’ Hall, Kensington, last Wednesday, A.D. Bro. J. Hunt presiding over a good attendance ol members. One candidate wasinitiated and one proposed for initiation. An invitation was received from lyanboe Lodge to attend the presentation ol the Iloss-Stewart Shield, the lodge deciding to attend officially. Bro. \V. E. Knox tendered bis resignation as delegate to Progress Juvenile Lodge, which was accepted with regret, and Bro'. T. H. Maim' was appointed to fill tho vacancy. The auditors’ report and balance-sheet were presented and adopted after -some discussion. Tho D.P. of No. 2 distinct, Bro. F. C. Johns, assisted by P.D.P. Bro. G. Wilson, very ably installed the various .officers, with tho exception of tho M.C., who was unablo to attend. It was decided not to hold the dance set down on the syllabus for nest lodge night, but lo invite Mistletoe Lodge to a game of cards. After supper was handed round tho lodge stood adjourned at 11 p.m. Tlio visitors present were—D.P. Bro. F. C. Johns, P.G.P. Bro. C. W. Jacobson, P.D.P. Bro. G. Wilson, P.A. Bro C. C. Walker, and P.A. Bro. R. Logic. . Tlio half-yearly meeting of Ivanhoo Lodge was hold on Wednesday night, A.D. Bro, Reeves presiding over about eighty members and visitors. D.P. Bro. Rusbrklge, R.A.D. Bro. Wade and officers, together with representatives from tne various lodges in Nos. 1 and 2 districts were present officially, tho occasion being tho presentation of the Ro.ss-Stewart Shield to Ivanhoe’s winning team. Several letters of congratulation wore received, and after these had been read, R.A.D. Bro. Wade presented the shield to A.D. Bro. Reeves*, who suitably replied. Three candidates wore proposed for initiation and one brother accepted on clearance from Acorn Lodge, after which three new members were initiated into tho order by the Koss-Stowart winning team. D.P. Bro. Rnsbridgo, in the name of the lodge, presented Bro. F. E. Beeves with a beautiful salad bowl and servers to commemorate bis victory. Prizes were also presented to Bros. A. J Bundle and W. J. Rainbow for winning tlio V.A. competition which had been held on a previous occasion. The installation of officers was carried out by D.P. Bro. Rusbrklge, ably assisted by 'P.D.P. Bro. Wilson, the following officers being installed: — A.D., Bro. J. W. T. Clark; V.A., Bro. W. if. Rainbow; secretary, Bro. H. Brcckie; treasurer, Bro. C. H. Wilson; LG., Bro. A. J. Bundle; 0.G., Bro. A. Seddon; A.D. Bards, Bros. T. Borrow and W. Graham; V.A. Bards, Bros. I. Anderson and R. E. Mercer; M.C., Bro. J. Beeves; M. secretary, Bro. W. Brorkic; pianist, Bro. G. M'Clu'skoy; auditors, Bros. A. J. Cannon and J. D. Sinclair; P.A., Bro. W. T. Gray was- elected as trustee in place Of Bro.' King, who had resigned. It v.'iis decided to pay an official visit to Lily -of the' Valley Lodge at its next meeting, and an invitation from Court Woodlands Pride was accepted for Juno 25. Tlio usual toasts wore given and responded to bv D.P. Bro. Rusbridgc; R.A.D. Bro. Wade; P.D.P. Bro. Wilson on behalf of the judges; ami the representatives of the various lodges Progress Juvenile Lodge held its meeting on Wednesday night in the Methodist Church Hall, Wesley street, South Dunedin, A.D. Bro. E. .Maybe-') presiding over a largo attendance of members. Eight new members were in attendance, and alter the ballot had proved clear, they wore subsequently initiated by A.D. Bro. Maybeo md bis officers in a manner which did credit to all concerned. Final arrangements were made lor the shooting competition which will lake place in Olivo Brandi Lodge next week. An early adjournment, was made so that tlio members could entertain their p.uents and friends. A. programme of varied items was presented by (bo boys, including Master Jones, who is mi artist with a future before him. An enjoyable supper was partaken of by tlio members and their friends, the .singing of tho National Anthem bringing a very successful meeting to a close, -
