The postal authorities advise that the Niagara is due at Auckland on Monday from .Vancouver with 157 bags of mail for Dunedin. This is due hero on Wednesday evening. The Tahiti, which left Sydney on Tuesday for Wellington, has on board 103 bags (including fifty-nine from beyond), and fifty-seven hampers of mail for this town This batch should come to hand on Monday morning. Tho Dunedin mails by the Manuka, which left Melbourne on Wednesday for Bluff, total ten bags and two hampers, which are due here on Monday evening. The Maunganui, from Sydney to Wellington is carrying thirty-one bags (including fifteen from beyond) and three hampers.
At the private view yesterday afternoon of the exhibition of British contemporary art that Mr E. Murray Fuller has brought to Dunedin tho chairman was Mr John Loudon, president of the Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society. Mr Loudon spoke of the care with which Mr Murray Fuller had chosen his collection, which more than bore comparison with Mr Bailey’s work along the same lines Mr Murray Fuller had been advised in h:s selection by British artists wEose fame was world wide. All the pictures in the collection had their own special virtues, ami there was not one of them thatwould not be improved with age, both in tone and value. The object of the exhibition had been to stimulate interest in art, and especially to show those styles and motives which were intimately concerning the English artists of to-day. On behalf of those interested in art and of the Dunedin Public Art Gallery Society he thanked Mr Murray Fuller for the trouble he had' taken in placing so praiseworthy a collection before them. Mr Murray Fuller expressed his gratitude to those present, and hoped that it would give them as much pleasure to view, as it had given him to select, the works. He desired especially to thank Mrs MTndoe for her valuable help m placing difficult subjects, and Mr Neilson for the success of his general arrangements.

The members of the Committee of Inquiry sot up in connection with the treatment of tuberculosis, consisting of Dr F. W. B. Fitchett (Dunedin, chairman), Dr Eardley Fenwick (Wellington). and Dr T. W.
