ANDERSON'S BAY INLET.

TO THE EDITOR Sir, —Absence from town has prevented me from replying to “T.M.’s” effusion of recent date, wherein lie, to my mind, seemed terribly perturbed because you had the effrontery to have an opinion contrary to “T.M.” Ray residents now have “T.M.’s” strength, lie admits writing on all sorts of subjects. It is his hobby to write to the papers. He is in my humble opinion a “ know-all.” He points, 11 not with offensive egoism, but with pardonable pride, to the fact you have rarely found it necessary to apply the editorial scissors.” Good gracious, how dare you, sir. apply the editorial scissors to Mr ‘‘T.M.’s'” writings! Your indulgence in allowing “T.M.” to have “ for years subscribed to your correspondence columns on many subjects for the public’s; good ” is evidence of great tolerance. “T.M.” is not only conceited; ho is an egotist. Fancy taking unto himself- the right of contending that all from his pen is for the “ public good ” ! Good gracious! “T.M.” must think his word is so weighty, his judgment so sound, that all movements depend on his “aye” to succeed. “T.M.” has at Inst given evidence that in writing on Bay matters his opinion is not worth two hoots. lie has wasted his time in decrying Ray improvements. We will not “play” upon words, as “T.M.” says, or. nunc© words with, him, by eay-

ing his observations on reclamation cut no ice at all with thinking people anywhere in Dunedin. His effusions from now. on will not be bothered about by Bay residents.—l am, etc., Amen. June 13,
