SECOND ASSHETOH-SCHWARTZ CONCERT TO-HIGHT Dawn Assheton, tho gifted soprano, and Laszlo Schwartz, tlio Hungarian violinist-composer, will appear again at Burns Hall to-night and to-morrow evening. Afiss Assheton presents songs of every musical land in the pictures-que-costumes from those countries. Her rise to fame as a folk song singer and mimic has been meteoric, and the large audience that attended the first recital iu Dunedin on Saturday was aroused to enthusiasm by the great, art of the singer. The amazing range, of octaves helps her to render the most difficult operatic arias from ‘ Traviata,’ ‘The Barber of Seville,’ etc., with ease and brilliancy, fu the following group the singer presents unique and colourful songs of India, Persia, Burma in a costume that completes the illusion created by the plaintive songs of the East. Laszlo Schwartz also adds much to the novel character of the programme with his own compositions and a few of his latest .songs composed specially for Dawn Assheton. Eric Bell is the accompanist. The box plan arrangements are advertised.
