MU T. W, RHODES TO RETIRE FROM THAMES MAY CONTEST HAURAKI (Pee United Press Association.j THAMES, May 3. At'a meeting ot the Thames Reform supporters on Wednesday night Mr I. W. Rhodes, the sitting member, announced that he would not again seek election for this electorate. He did tins with a full sense of his responsibility towards the electors, as well as to the party with which ho had been associated for so long. Owing to alterations in the Thames boundaries to include important parts of Ohmcmuri, he suggested tho present member (Mr A. M Samuel') as his successor. Ho understood that Mr Samuel was ready to offer his services. The meeting agreed to accept Mr Rhodes’s action with r*» gret, and also to invito Mr Samuel to meet them to consider tho position. It is unofficially stated that Mr Rhodes will stand for tho now Hauraki elcctO' rate
