FARMERS DRAW TOGETHER

result of industrial conference WELLINGTON, Alay 3. The National industrial Conference was briefly reported on to the executive of the Farmers’ Union by Air Poison, president, who is taking an active part in the committee work now proceeding. If this conference had done nothing else, it had succeeded, he said, in establishing a. much better understanding between’the sheep farmers, dairy farmers, and the Farmers’ Union, It was important to see this good understanding maintained, so that on policy questions affecting primary industry all sections would not pull in different ways, as in the past. Another result was that the representatives had come into closer touch with those responsible for secondary industry. “ W r e have found that our ideas arc not so very far apart. While we look at it from different angles, it is still possible to focus our ideas through one lens, and go a long way towards agreement on questions affecting us.” Air Poison suggested the necessity for a central organisation, including all employing interests, where the workers’ views could be discussed.
