FIJI
STRATEGIC IMPORTANCE TO EMPIRE Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, May 3. (Received May 3, at 9.30 a.m.) Sir Henry Scott, K.C,, of Suva, responding to a toast at a luncheon with the State Ministry, said that he was of opinion that some form of union might be established between New South Wales and Fiji. The strategic importance of Fiji was of paramount importance to the Empire, and must therefore be recognised by Australian statesmen. Ho explained the economic difficulties under which Fiji laboured, and appealed to Australia for generous and sympathetic treatment.
