REDUCTION URGED [Pkb United Fkess Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, May 2. Mr W. Mach in, as ex-president ol the Associated Chambers of Commerce of New Zealand, lias scut an “open loiter ” to the chairman of the associated banks stating; “ A reduction of the high minimum rate of 7 per cent, on advances at the present time would be a great encouragement to nil who have to work on borrowed money. It would give more freedom and buoyancy to business, ami would, I believe, reduce unemployment.”
