After receiving a report showing that the municipal trains had made a mss of £2,077 last year, plus £2,647, the interest on loans, and that tho council buses for the same period showed a profit of £269, tho borough council resolved — “That, as the results of the loss at which the tramway system is being run, also the immediate necessity to expend a largo amount on rolling stock and track, and, further, as the result of the inadequate service the system renders to the public, the council immediately takes all necessary steps, ami applies for an Order in Council to discontinue the entire system; and that a poll of the ratepayers be taken immediately for a loan of £20,00 to acquire buses.”
