GARDENING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING There was a good muster of members at the annual meeting of the Dunedin Gardening Club, which was held in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last night, Mr F. H. Hollingworth presiding. The Chairman expressed pleasure at the large attendance, m spite of the weather, and said that it was very gratifying to see such largo attendances at the meetings, including a large number of the original members, who still showed a keen interest in the activities of the club, lie moved the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet. The motion was seconded by Mr James Nelson, who said that the increase in membership showed that the club was a Jive oue. He stressed the need for more members, and suggested that each member should try to secure at least one other member. The following office-bearers ' were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr F. H. Hollingworth; vice-pre-sidents—Messrs E. H. Hamel, John Whyte, J. Passmore, James Nelson, Mrs Rodger, Miss Ruby Anderson; secretary and treasurer, Mr B. Nelson; committee—Messrs L. Page, J. W. MTutyre, T. Y. Turner, M. Thomson, L. Fraser, R. Moore, J. H. Vickers, W. Blackburn, J. Tait, J. Roy, W. Walker, Mesdames F. H. Hollingworth, E. A. Hamel, A, Doodeward, Orr-Camp-bell, J. Sinton, Misses M'lntyre, Kellan, J. Burgess, M. Robertson, Pilkington, A. Dippie, J. Kinder, and Nolan.

After the formal business was completed a musical evening was spent. Items were given by Miss Rona Scott (recitation), Miss Whitson (song), Mr W. J. Sinton (marimba solo), Miss jDallan (song), Miss Rodger (piano telo), Miss Craig (piano solo). Miss Rodger was the accompanist.
