(Before Mr J. K. Bartholomew, S.M.) ASSAULT ALLEGED. As the result of what was alleged to be a family dispute Edmond Edmonds was charged with assaulting Isabella. March so as to cause her actual bodily harm. ' Senior-sergeant (Juarlermam _ asked for. a remand for a, week, the injured woman still being in hospital. Ho did not anticipate any very serious results to her. It had been a family dispute in the first place. Mr B. S. Irwin, who appeared tor the accused, said that he was a farmer in the Leith Valley with a family of ten. Edmonds was remanded until May 9, bail being allowed in self £SO, and one surety of £SO, or two of £25 each. MOTORISTS CHARGED. A man who war represented by Mr C. J. White pleaded not guilty to being intoxicated in charge of a motor car, a remand being granted until May 7 on the application of Mr White. Another man, who was similarly charged, was represented by Mr B. S. l nvin (on behalf of Mr A. C. Hanlon), the case being adjourned until’May 7. In both cases the names were suppressed until the facts were gone into.
