Mrs Agatha Christie, whose disappearance and loss of memory in 1926 caused a sensation, was granted a divorce from her husband on the ground of misconduct. Lord Merrivalo commented; “When a gallant gentleman frequents hotels w ith an unnamed woman in order to secure release from a marriage that he dislikes, a judge has no other course hut to grant a divorce.”— Australian JtcQoa Asaooiation.
