From the resultant free hit the Purple forwards got away, and Johnson registered: Tech. Old , Boys ,1, ’Varsity 1. From tlio bully the Purples pressed again, and after a scramble Johnson .scored his second goal. 'Technical Old Boys 2 ’Varsity i Shortly afterwards Johnson and Hinton broke away, but Green cleared. The Bines now camo away, but Watson shot wide. Minton then led an attack into ’Varsity territory, but Barrett cleared. ’Varsity attacked the Technical goal strongly, and a hot shot by Edsou was brilliantly saved by Davis. Shortly afterwards half-time was called with the score: Technical Old Boys 2 ’Varsity 1 From the bully, ’Varsity broke away and Davis, who was playing very well, saved two shots in a manner which would have done credit to a professional. The Bines now seemed to gain the upper hand, and shortly afterwards Edson put ’Varsity in the lead; ’Varsity 3, Technical Old Roys 2. After a period of up-and-down play Edson sent in a good centre to M'Nickle, who made the score: ’Varsity 4, Technical Old Roys 2. This reverse seemed lo stir tho Purples into action, and from a penalty corner Johnson netted. ’Varsity J, Technical Old Boys 3. Tho ’Varsity forwards got away Iroin the. bully, but only a. twenty-live resulted. Then Johnson broke away on a solo effort, and scored a good goal, making the score 4 all. The game now speeded np considerably, and after some good work on the part of tho Tech, forwards Johnson again scored. Technical Old Roys 5, ’Varsity 4. ’Varsity got away, but Sew How saved well. Then the Purples returned to the attack, and U, Silver scored with a good shot. Technical Old Roys 6, ’Varsity 4. ’Varsity strove hard to regain the lead, but tho Technical defence was prolong very solid, am! shortly afterwards time was (piled by Messrs J. Starr and A. ALBANY V. 'VAHSiTY B This match was played on Oval No. 3. The weather conditions were very much against good hockey, although at times there were to ho seen some good passing rushes. Albany proved themselves superior hy defeating ’Varsity by 6 goals to 0. Tor Albany Baxter (2) and Brown (4) scored. Mr Chapman ably controlled the match.
