Messrs Donald Peid and Co-, Ltd., report:— Chaff. —Consignments have started to arrive more freely, and the acute shortage ruling lately lias now been relieved. Prime quality is arriving regularly from the north, and this grade is readily disposed of ex truck. There is ample chaff in the country, and a consideiftble increase in consignments can lie expected once threshing operations are completed. .Prime is .soiling up to £5 JOs per ton (sacks extra), ex truck, Dunedin. Potatoes. —Main crop digging is not yet genera! in this district, but potatoes arriving here have a ripened appearance, so digging will probably commence in earnest any day now. The market is not brisk by any means, and values are inclined to ease. Pest tables arc selling from To ‘is 6d to £;> 10s (sacks in), ex truck, Dunedin. Wheat.—-Local millers are not urea 11 v interested in any samples at present offering. Wheat is arriving frcelv on their sidings, the result of their forward purchases, and they can hardly know how they stand for supplies until this wheat has all been delivered. Tuscan values range from r,s 6d to 5s Sd: Hunters. Gs . Q d to Gs 10d ; and Pearl to Os .‘ld (sacks extra) , on truck, country stations _ Oats.— Samples arc offering freely, but there is little change in the market. Heavy A grade lines are snapped up bv the oat meal millers at a_ little hi "her value than ordinary shipping A’s. The bulk of the grade oats offering are between LI lb and 421 b. and .‘ls (sacks extra), on truck, is ruling offer. 2s Od is value for 15 grade, but the market, is quieter in this variety.
