COSTLY SCORE ENQUIRY Going into an hold to telephone lor bowling scores two men were found bv the police when the hotel was closed for business. In the City Police Couit to-day James Mastic ami Walter Paterson pleaded guilty to being found on licensed promises after hours on. April 6. David Scurr, who was similarly charged, pleaded not guilty. Sub-inspector Fahey said the men had been found in Tattorsall’s Hotel on Good Friday. They had no excuse. “ They have an excuse.” stated Mr T. O’Shea. .Hastio and Paterson wore howlers, and had been watching play at the Roslyn Green. Feeling cold, they had come into town. and. being interested in his son’s play, Paterson had attempted to telephone the Roslyn Green to obtain the results. However, tho slot telephone boxes were occupied by girls, and, being a customer or Mrs Blancy’s for twenty years, ho had gone to the hotel. He was going up tho stairs to use the telephone when ho was found on tho premises. The other man had merely accompanied him. Sub-inspector Fahey expressed Ins doubts of telephoning calling for the assistance of two mon. Hastio and &curr were with Paterson. Mr O’Shea: Scurr says Miafc he was not with them. Hastio and Paterson were fined 20s each. Tho case against Scurr was held over till this afternoon-
