The Rcseuo Lodge, No. 105, International Order of Good Templars, held an “ open night” in the Oddfellows Hall, King Edward street, last night, when there was a large attendance cf members and friends. The programme had been arranged by Bro. W. E. O’Neill, and the following contributed items;— Pianoforte selections, Sister Airs _\\ Illinois and Bro. Bachop; recitations, Sisters T. Williams and E. Duncan; solos. Sister Mrs Williams and Bro. O’Neil; sketch, ‘Building the Chicken Coop,’ Bros. Bachop, Dougal O’Neill, and E. lies; duet, Sister Williams and Bro. O’Neill. An appeal for new members resulted in a number ot names being presented for proposition at next meeting. The Star of the South Temple met the same evening, when there was a large attendance. An elocutionary competition was held, Sister Partridge and Bro. Evans being declared the winners of their respective sect.ons. The Ever Hopeful Juvenile Temple met on Monday in the Methodist Sunday School Hall, South road, Caversham, when there was a good attendance. Bro. T. Monson, Chief Templar, presided, Bro. K. J. lies acting as superintendent. Four candidates wore initiated. The following contributed items:—Solos, Sisters Duncan, C. Thorn, and Edna Page ; recitation, Sister D. Leckioi The temple choir also xendered two items.
