RETURNED SOLDIERS’ AFFAIRS
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE The raonthlv meeting of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association. I'resent were Mr A. Laing (chairman), Messrs A. M'Hutchon, W. F. Forrester, R. Fullerton, R. Holt, A. J. Gordon, A. G. Leeden. H. L. Paterson, D. B. 'Waddell, J. S. Anderson, J, S. Skinner, H. IT. Walker, E. J. Anderson. and J. W. White. New members numbering seventeen were elected. Two transfers outwards, one transfer inwards, and one resignation were accepted. Mr Forrester reported that the arrangements for Poppy Day were well in hand. The .stalls in the city had been arranged, and the country districts would also be canvassed. The Secretary reported that Sir James Allen had made a donation of several framed pictures to the association. It was decided that the donation be suitably acknowledged. It was also decided to invite Sir James to become an honorary life member of the association. , After some discussion it was decided that on Anzac Day the parade should salute the South African war memorial while marching from the Queen’s Gardens to Kensington Drill Hall.
