Jones, says that he will bo spelled in the dominion, and his next appearance will probably bo in the Warwick Stakes, a month before tho Australian Jockey Club’s Spring Meeting opens. PIGEON FLYING
The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club Hew its annual nomination race last Saturday from Rakaia, an airline distance of 165 miles. The birds were liberated by the station master at 10.31 a.ra., and they came through log and rain. The winning birds timed in at 4.54 p.ra., completing the journey in 6h 23m. Thirty-seven birds from thirteen lofts competed, with the lollowing results (in yards per minutejA Conley and Ranger’s Jock’s Pall, 758.7, and J. Hardgraves’s Gay Lady, 758.7, equal, 1; J.
