The shipowners approached the Arbitration Court to-day asking that summonses be issued requiring the officials of the Marine Cooks’ Union of Sydney and Melbourne to appear before the court on Friday next. The owners’ application asks for the determination of the award and the insertion of a clause prohibiting members of the Cooks’ Union taking part, and also the suspension of the award if members of the Marino Cooks’ Union join any strike.
