LORD BIRKENHEAD AND SIR AUSTEH CHAMBERLAIN (British Official News.) Press Apaodstion—By Telegraph—Copyright, RUGBY, April 13. Lord Birkenhead and a company of English friends arrived at Berlin yesterday on a private visit. Sir' Austen and Lady Chamberlain, with their son and daughter, arrived to-day at the Hook of Holland for a short'holiday in Holland. They immediately proceeded to The Hague, where they will be the guests of Mr Richard Tobin, the American Minister. Tonight Monsieur Beelaerts Van BlokInnd, the Dutch Foreign Minister, is giving a dinner in honor of the British Foreign Minister. On Monday Sir Austen and Lady Chamberlain will be entertained to dinner by Jonkheer Van Darnebeek, the former Foreign Minister, and on Tuesday they will be present at a dinner at the British Legation. Sir Austen will, during his stay, visit the Dutch bulbfields near The Hague and Haarlem. BRITAIN AND GERMANY. FRIENDLY CO-OPERATION DESIRED. BERLIN, April 14. Lord Birkenhead was entertained at dinner bv prominent politicians and bankers." He said that even in the darkest days of the war Britain always had a feeling of sincere admiration for Germany’s achievements. This sentiment had been enhanced when it was seen how wonderfully German commerce and industry had overcome the difficulties with which they were confronted by defeat.
