ROYAL MALE CHOIR

Oil Sutuarday a party of forty, comprising members of tho above choir and iaily iriends, in cars belonging to several members and a corporation bus, visited Seacliit Mental Institution, ami gave the inmates a most enjoyable concert. The choir items were ‘ Viking bong,’ ‘The Lark .Now Leaves Has alery Nest ’ (tenor solo by Air Thomas ilachop), ‘Meeting of tho Waters,’ ‘When Allan-a-Oaic,’ ‘Mummers Song,’ and ‘ Scots Wha llae.’. Miss Helen Roy sang ‘My Heart’s Desire,’ and Miss Olga Wynne, who gave ‘ Over tho Meadow,’ were' each encored, and responded with ‘ Tho Rowan Tree ’ and

1 The Lust Lose of bummer ’ respectively. They also sang a duet, ‘ Tho Angel,’ which was encored. Miss Nanna Newey gave two elocutionary items very acceptably, and was recalled. The instrumentalist was Mr De Silva, and his violin playing was much appreciated by the inmates and stall'. Choir members who assisted with soles were Messrs James Haig (‘ Homeland’), Arthur Newey (‘The Toast ’), John A.. Haggitt (humorous item), Douglas Napier (‘Shipmates o’ Mine’), Frank H. Jones ('The Carnival’), and .Robert Walls (‘Sleeping Camp.’ Mr James Paterson was in charge of the singing, and the choir was indebted to Mr KirkBurnard for his voluntary’ assistance as accompanist.

Tho members were shown over the farm, and entertained at tea by the staff before the concert. The choir was tSianked for its efforts. At supper a presentation to the choir through its secretary was made of a drawing by one of the patients as a slight recognition and appreciation of the four concerts arranged at the institution during the year.
