HIGHLAND PIPE BAND
SUCCESSFUL REUNION There were about 100 members and friends, including visiting bandsmen and members of sister societies, at the Dunedin Highland Pipe Band’s reunion held in Kroon’s Hall on Saturday night. The function, which was presided over by Mr J. A. Fairhairn, was a most enjoyable one, and passed oil successfully. Following the toast ol “ The King,” the chairman briefly welcomed the visitors, and a lengthy toast list was gone through. Interspersed throughout'the evening, were a number of musical and elocutionary items, which were given by the follow-ing:—Drum-sergeant Brown, Mr T. Cooper, Mr J. Broome, Mr T.- Currie, Sergeant-major .Johnston (songs), Mr A. Hendry (ocarina solo), Mr A. M'Millan (bagpipe selection,). Mr W. Hargreaves acted as accompanist, Prior to the social the annual meeting of the hand was held, the president (Mr J. Hopei occupying the chair. In moving the adoption of the 1 animal report and balance-sheet the chairman said that the members had reason In be proud that the hand's affairs were on such a sound footing, and that the halaircc-sheet showed its (1 nances to be so satisfactory. In Ibis respect lie congratulated the secretary, the treasurer, and the members of the executive. The motion was .seconded by Mr J. 11. Fairhairn and carried.
